3 day weekend face

(mike always call me 3 day weekend face when i have a day off. silly boy.)

i had a lovely weekend with friends & family! i was off friday so i slept in, ran some errands then lounged on the couch the rest of the day. perfect if you ask me. later that night we went to a friends house and had a few drinks and yummy bday cake. we slept in saturday morning then got ready for mike's cousin's wedding. so glad we got to see his nephews! love those little boys. we left the wedding a lil early for our date night :) my babe took me to see water for elephants (LOVED it!) then went out to din din at tope la. we then went to spend some more time with mike's brother, sister in law and boys. love them all.






sunday we had lunch with my family at my grandparent's house. nom nommmy food. i made oreo cheesecake cupcakes! i didnt really care for them. they kind of tasted like the inside of the refrigerator to me, ha! but everyone else said they were very good.

we did our weekly grocery shopping trip afterward and spent way too much money! we always try to guess how much we are gonna spend and we were definitely wrong. i also made a little vlog to add in here buttt vimeo has yet to finish loading it. does it normally take over 24 hrs?? the last video i uploaded it was done in less than an hr. it keeps saying it will start converting in "x" amount of time and it does the countdown but when its over it starts another countdown. so, no vlog this time. i have something else in mind i will hopefully get to tomorrow anyway. have a great rest of your monday dears :)

lovely little lunch date (& i won a giveaway!)

tuesday me and mike met up for lunch. this never happens because he works in laplace, which is about 45 minutes from where we live. he has to work a few saturdays a month now and on the weeks he does that, he gets a day off during the week to cut back on overtime (womp!) but he is ok with that... it gives him a chance to get some stuff done around the house and to have lunch with me :)
we went to a local produce stand for lunch. i know what your thinking... what did we eat!? raw veggies and fresh fruit? well this stand is not like normal ones! they make a bunchhh of stuff on site.... from lunch plates, to bread, to desserts and even wine! they have picnic tables outside in the shade for you to eat at too. its a really cute setup! i love this place. i try to make it a point to buy as much as i can on my grocery list from there. and its all local of course. after we ate we picked up a few things then i headed back to work :(

oh and guess what!? i won my first giveaway! the adorable alison from holland 1945 was hosting a giveaway featuring a lovely piece from honey pie headbands etsy shop & i won! cant wait to get my prize in the mail :)

6 years together

sunday was me & mike's 6 year anniversary. crazy! cant believe it has been that long. i couldnt even begin to imagine life without him. he is without a doubt my best friend.
we were supposed to see an early showing at the movies then go grab some lunch. welllll we ended up sleeping till 1 (which NEVER happens for him!) due to a little too much to drink the night before. so we just had a late lunch at our fav mexican place (yes! again!) followed by grocery shopping and late night scary movie watching. we kept it low key since we are going to nashville at the end of the month. im getting very excited! SO not looking forward to the 8+ hour drive! and leaving my pup for 4 days! :(

president's day brunch date

me and mike both took this past monday off to have a long weekend together. it was very nice & relaxing. although i was sorta sick of seeing his face! does anyone else get "tired" of their significant other after spending 24/3 or more together? just me? oh..... well.... moving on... he was feeling sickish on friday, then i was feeling the same on saturday. sunday we were a bunch of lazy ass couch potatoes, so we made sure to get out the house on monday! he woke up early and headed the the gym while i slept in. after he got back, we got ready and went for brunch at a new place in town. veryyy yum! we ran a couple more errands, picked up a king cake, then headed home. i had to let my food settle for like 3 hrs (ate too much!) then i finally made it to the gym. the weather was perfect out. its making me very anxious for spring! my body is not ready for a swimsuit though >.<

st. valentine

we had a lovely low-key night on monday. i was getting ready while mike was on his way home from work. i heard him come in so i locked myself in the bedroom and made him come knock on the door to "pick me up" for our date, haha. little things like that make it feel like more of a date then just going out to dinner like we always do.

we headed to our fav local mexican place. its already cheap as hell and on vday, they were having a 25% off discount! count us in :) we pretty much pigged out: chips & salsa, chicken nachos to share, 2 entrees &&&& 60 ounces of frozen margaritas! i definitely went off the charts with my weight watchers points. oh well!

we exchanged gifts the saturday before since i already knew what i was getting and i wanted to use it that night. i got a curling wand which i LOVE & he got a couple pairs of basketball shorts. he surprised me with tulips and we exchanged cards before dinner. all in all: one of our best vday celebrations :) hope everyone else had a lovely time with their valentine!
