Music Monday: Voodoo Fest edition!

Im so so so excited to be going to Voodoo this weekend! Some of my favorite artists are playing... Muse, Florence and the machine & Metric. Along with: Weezer, Hot Chip, Cage the Elephant, Interpol, THE Ozzy Osbourne. The list goes on and on. I thought it would be cool to feature my favorite songs from some of this years performers! I love weekends

I would love to know who decided that 5 days work and 2 days play was the way we would have to live life. I mean seriously? That isnt fair! What age is retirement these days?....
Its been pretty hot here the last few days. Bring on the cool front! Here are some pictures from our weekend:

Friday me and Mike went out to dinner to celebrate winning Voodoo Music Fest tickets from a local radio station. Voodoo Fest is a huuuge music fest that takes place in New Orleans every year on Halloween weekend lasting from Friday- Sunday. We have gone the past 3 years but really couldnt afford the tickets this year, they are very pricey (50$ per person per day!) THANKFULLY Kslu radio was given a pair away everyday for 2 weeks. We listened ALL.DAY. for 2 weeks to try to win and even called in several times when they said to but had no luck. On the last day they were giving them away, Mike won! YESSS! We are thrilled!

Saturday night we went to dinner with 2 of our besties, Amanda & Casey, and then went to their house to hang out. We always stay the night when we go there, its 40 minutes away. They are expecting their 2nd baby, a boy. She is due in February. Amanda is a very dear friend of mine, I stood in their wedding and we have been bff's for about 5 years.

Interior inspiration

Hi dolls. Hope everyone is having a fantastic day :D I'm so happy its Friday! I just got back from a wonderful lunch date with my friend Tiffini. She is expecting her fist baby next April! SO exciting! Moving on... Me and Mike have been homeowners since last May. That's 17 months and our house is 99% un-decorated (is that a word?) Its mostly due to finances. Also, I'm just so damn picky! I know exactly how I want every room to look but I'm having the hardest time finding what I want. Its very frustrating. Hopefully after Christmas we will be able to decorate more. I might do a house tour post this weekend if I get around to cleaning the whole thing first. Our next project, after finding curtains for the living & dinning room, is the master bedroom. The color scheme will be yellow, gray, black & white. We will be painting the walls gray and making a headboard which I am veryyy excited about! The furniture we have now is black, so all we need to do after paints and headboard is get curtains, new sheets and some wall decor. Heres some inspiration:

So like i said, we will be making our own heardboard. So it will probably look something like these:

Im liking the middle one the best. That fabric would match also. We have a solid white duvet and some black and white damask throw pillows that we are using now, so I will probably end up using fabric that has a good bit of yellow in it. Then I will have to make some curtains to match. Who wants to help with that? Is anyone else still sleeping in a full size bed? Well let me just tell you, it sucks! We are always fighting for room and pushing each other over. On the checklist for our next house is definitely a bigger master room!

Music Wednesday?

I meant to post this on Monday, but life got in the way. I've also been way behind on reading my fav blogs so I played a little catch up tonight. I guess I could say I've recently "discorved" Fletwood Mac. Of course I've always known who they were but never really heard their music. The past few times I've heard a song I liked on the radio and googled the lyrics to see who it was, it was them. I guess I need to get their greatest hits cd huh? Are any of you fans? Fashion Friday: Modcloth

TGIF! I'm so happy its Friday! This has been a very stressful week at work and on top of that, for some reason I've been getting my days confused all week and kept thinking we were 1 day ahead. Thats no fun. We don't really have any plans for the weekend yet besides bringing the pup to the groomers and getting some pumpkins to carve! I will be doing lots of relaxing :)
So although I check out Modcloth a couple times a week, I have yet to order from them. Maybe I will ask for some pretty things from there for Christmas. Have any of you ladies purchased from them? These are the things I'm really crushing on lately:



















I guess you can say I like floral prints and ruffles huh? Wish their pieces were a bit more affordable. Maybe if i wish reallyyy hard, that pink coat will be in my closet when I wake up?? I wouldn't be able to wear until January anyway! Damn you Louisiana weather. Hope everyone has a great weekend :)
