we decided a few weeks ago to plan a sunday trip to the new orleans french quarter. thank goodness the saints had an away game that day, it would be way too crazy down there if it was a home game! we picked chartres house cafe for lunch, drinks and to watch the game. heather and her husband came with us and we had a great time! sometime after the 1st 1/2 heather and i decided to go walk around a bit. we stopped in a couple of boutiques but didnt stay away too long. after the game the 4 of us walked around a bit, stopped at a couple little bars for more drinks then ended our day with a quick bite to eat at my favorite place in the quarter, angeli. it is delicious! sorry, they dont have a website for you to peek at :(
i didnt take nearly enough pictures :( me and the babe decided we definitely need to start taking more day trips to the quarter. were only about an hour away! hopefully we can fit a couple more in our schedules before the end of the year. hope yall had a fun weekend!

aldo's teem handbag:
i really really love the style of this bag. like, a lot! i also think the colors go great together. i just dont know if it has enough black on it to really go w/ a black outfit.
aldo's mccabe handbag:
i actually think this print is exactly what im looking for! its the perfect amount of black and brown. but.... i have a purse in this style from aldo and i hate how hard it is to find anything in it. its like this big neverending hole!
so, what do you think? give me your feedback please! which one should i get?

i love mexican food. like, a lot. i tend to cook it often, its normally super easy and w/ just a few ingredients. so when i came across this recipe by paula deen i knew i had to try it. i know what youre thinking.... paula deen... it must be 1,000 calories per serving. well it really isnt that bad! i dont know what the nutrional value is but it can easily be figured out. ok, on to the recipe!
1 10 3/4 -ounce can cream of chicken soup
1 10 3/4 -ounce can cheddar cheese soup
1 10 3/4 -ounce can cream of mushroom soup
1 10-ounce can tomatoes (i used rotel instead)
1 whole chicken, cooked, boned, and chopped or 4 cups leftover cooked chicken (i baked 2 chicken breasts, seasoned w/ garlic powder, onion powder & mrs. dash extra spicy. it was about 3 1/2 cups once i shredded it)
11 1/2-ounce package flour tortillas (i used my whole pack, 16 total)
2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
preheat oven to 350 degrees. in a large bowl, stir together the three kinds of soup and the tomatoes. stir in the chicken. in a greased 13 x 9- inch pan, layer the tortillas and the chicken mixture, beginning and ending with tortillas. i put 6 on bottom, 4 in the middle and 6 on top. sprinkle the cheese over the casserole and bake for 30 minutes.
(i just had to get my pretty pumpkins in the picture)
tada! youre done. easy peasy right? you can easily bake the chicken the night before and throw it in the oven after a long day at the office. you should definitely try this one out! enjoy :)
